International A26
Built on the MAN D26 block, and International's deliberate line under the MaxxForce era. Light for its output and well regarded on fuel.

rough, and shop rates move it
In the exhaust
DPF and SCR
The first greenhouse gas phase targets the whole vehicle rather than the engine, so this era is as much about aerodynamics, tyres and axle ratios as combustion. Downspeeding becomes standard: tall gears, low cruise revs.
Known issues
Too recent for a settled long-term record, which is itself worth saying. Early aftertreatment sensor complaints, nothing structural reported at scale.
Verdict
A genuine recovery from what came before it. The used market still prices International below its peers, which is an opportunity if the A26 record holds.
